2. What this is about

Yaphook is a tool that lets people with the required permissions build messages for Yapin’ and send them into a server through a bot. We only process what is needed for that. There is no advertising, no tracking and no analytics.

3. Visiting the website

When you visit the site, the web server technically needs to process your IP address, date and time, the requested address and information about your browser. This serves safe and stable operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The data is not evaluated and only stored as long as needed for operation and security.
Hosting: Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Deutschland. The provider processes the data on our behalf (data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR).

4. Signing in with Yapin’

When you sign in, Yapin’ confirms your identity. We receive your Yapin’ ID, your name (display name or username) and the address of your profile picture. We do not request anything else, no email address and no messages. We do not store the access token from Yapin’. The purpose is to show you the right servers and to check your permissions (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).

For this we set two technically necessary cookies: yh_session (stay signed in, 7 days) and yh_state (protection during sign-in, 10 minutes). A third cookie, yh_lang, remembers your language (1 year). You can sign out at any time by clicking your name at the top.

5. Sending messages

The content you enter in the editor is only sent to Yapin’ when you send it and is published there in the channel you chose. It is not stored on our server. In webhook mode you enter a webhook link instead of signing in. Our server forwards your message with that link to Yapin’. The link is a secret: we do not store it and do not write it to logs. To check your permissions, the server asks Yapin’ for your roles on the selected server and keeps the result in memory for at most one minute.

6. Storage in your browser

Your draft, the last selected server and channel, the sender name and picture, the send mode and (only if you tick “Remember on this device”) your webhook link are kept in your browser’s local storage so nothing gets lost. This data never leaves your browser. You can delete it in your browser settings or by using “Reset everything” in the editor (Section 25(2) TDDDG).

7. Images and links in the preview

If you enter image links, your browser loads the images for the preview directly from the respective server. Its operator can see your IP address. Only enter links you trust.

8. The bot

In the servers it is in, the bot receives commands (/yaphook, /discohook, /embed) and clicks on its buttons. Yapin’ technically also delivers other events to it. We only use commands and clicks and do not store any messages. For a role button, your user ID and the server ID are processed briefly to set or remove the role.

9. Recipients

Data goes to Yapin’ (sign-in, sending messages) and to the technical service provider that runs the server. We do not sell data. Processing at Yapin’ is covered by its own privacy policy.

10. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). Write to contact@itslian.de for this. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
